Explore the full beauty of Northern Vietnam with our 4-day, 3-night Ha Giang Loop motorbike tour. This extended trip allows you more time to enjoy the scenery, visit local villages, and fully experience the culture and landscapes of Ha Giang at a relaxed pace.
You’ll visit the most famous landmarks of the loop, including Heaven’s Gate, the Stone Plateau, Fairy Hills, Dong Van Old Quarter, Ma Pi Leng Pass, and many hidden mountain roads. Depending on your riding experience, season, and interests, your local guide will customize the route to give you the best adventure.
With extra time, you’ll have the chance to dive deeper into Ha Giang’s culture. Visit places like Lung Khuy Cave, Lung Tam weaving village, and remote ethnic minority villages that many travelers miss.
Whether you choose to self-drive or ride behind one of our experienced Easy Riders, this tour promises incredible views, rich cultural encounters, and unforgettable memories. If you plan to drive yourself, previous motorbike experience is recommended as Ha Giang’s roads can be challenging.
Accommodation is a mix of local homestays and hotels, with an option to stay fully in homestays for a deeper cultural experience. Meals are fresh, home-cooked local dishes prepared by welcoming host families.
Good to Know Before You Go
The Ha Giang Loop covers roughly 400 km in 4 days. Expect long riding days, so pack comfortable clothes and gear for all weather.
Safety comes first: helmets are mandatory, and always follow your guide’s instructions.
Accommodations are simple but clean, with hot showers, warm blankets, and basic amenities.
Ha Giang is home to many ethnic minority groups. Please respect local customs, and your guide will advise on proper behavior during your trip.
Option 1: VIP Sleeper Bus
Depart from Hanoi Old Quarter in the evening by VIP sleeper bus for a comfortable and private ride. Arrive in Ha Giang early morning and rest at our local hotel before starting your motorbike adventure.
Option 2: Daytime Limousine Bus + Thon Tha Village Experience (+1 extra day)
Take a scenic daytime limousine bus to Ha Giang, arriving in early afternoon. After lunch, visit Thon Tha village to explore peaceful rice fields, stilt houses, and experience the daily life of Tay ethnic people. Relax and breathe in the fresh mountain air before starting your motorbike journey the next morning.
Start your Ha Giang adventure with your local guide or Easy Rider. The journey begins with Bac Sum Pass, offering your first panoramic views of the Ha Giang mountains.
Next, continue to Quan Ba Heaven’s Gate for coffee and sightseeing. Stop at the Twin Mountains viewpoint for great photos.
After lunch in Quan Ba, visit Lung Tam weaving village where H’mong women handcraft beautiful textiles using traditional methods.
The ride continues through Duong Thuong and Lung Ho valleys toward Du Già. Explore peaceful rice fields, Tày stilt houses, and enjoy the calm countryside.
Before the day ends, visit Du Già Waterfall for a refreshing swim in the cool mountain stream. In the evening, stay at a local homestay, enjoy Tay ethnic dishes, and try "Happy Water" — the local corn wine.
Today’s ride passes through scenic rice terraces around Mau Due. Ride along the famous M-shaped curve and Happiness Road.
Enjoy a relaxing boat trip on the Nho Que River to admire Tu San Canyon — the deepest canyon in Southeast Asia.
In the evening, arrive at Pa Vi village in Meo Vac, where you will have dinner and stay overnight.
After breakfast, continue your adventure to Ma Pi Leng Pass, one of Vietnam’s most stunning mountain passes, with breathtaking views of the Nho Que River below.
Stop at Ma Pi Leng Monument, Death Cliff, and the Skywalk for incredible photos.
After lunch in Ma Le, visit Lung Cu Flag Tower, Vietnam’s northernmost point, and explore Lo Lo ethnic villages.
Next, visit the H’mong King’s Palace (Vuong Family Mansion) to learn about H’mong culture and see unique architecture blending H’mong, French, and Chinese styles.
In the evening, arrive at Dong Van Old Town, enjoy street food, explore the night market, and join local people for dancing and singing at the town square.
If it’s a weekend, visit Dong Van Sunday Market where many colorful ethnic groups gather to trade local products and livestock.
Continue to Sung La Valley, home to some of the oldest H’mong villages. Then ride through Nine Turns Pass and Tham Ma Pass, two iconic mountain passes.
Stop for coffee and photos at Can Ty Pass, Lonely Tree, and Van Chai Rock Wall.
Before finishing the tour, visit Thai An Waterfall and enjoy a final coffee break while admiring the small Tu San Canyon at Cat Ly.
Return to Ha Giang City and complete your unforgettable 4-day Ha Giang Loop adventure.
